Four Hoosiers Advance to NCAA Championships

TAMPA, Fla. – On the final day of the NCAA East Preliminaries Indiana University track and field had four athletes advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.
All-American Joe Murphy earned his first trip to Eugene when he automatically qualified after taking third in the first heat of the 1500m with the time of 3:43.79.
Sophomore William Session punched his ticket to the Championships for the second time in his career after a close second place finish in the first heat of the 110m hurdles. The Belleville, Ill. native crossed the finish line in 13.75 (13.474).
In the 5000m redshirt freshman Ben Veatch punched his career-first ticket to Eugene after automatically qualifying due to his third place finish in the first heat when he crossed the finish at 13:55.35. On the women's side, All-American Katherine Receveur will return to Eugene to try and improve on her 2017 third place finish in the 5000m. The Louisville, Ky. native automatically advanced when she finished fifth overall in the second heat with the time of 16:16.99.
The Hoosiers will travel to Eugene, Ore. next week to compete in the NCAA Championships, which will take place Wednesday, June 6 – Saturday, June 9.
