Hoosiers Close Non-Conference Slate at Queen City Classic

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana volleyball team will end a string of 11 straight road matches as they travel to Cincinnati for the Queen City Classic.
The Schedule

Friday September 14 at 7:00 PM ET: Indiana at Cincinnati (St. Ursula Academy)
Saturday September 15 at 4:00 PM ET: Indiana vs. Eastern Kentucky (Cintas Center)
Active Ankle Challenge
The Hoosiers went 2-1 at the Ball State Active Ankle Challenge last week with wins against North Dakota State and Ball State. Indiana lost a 3-1 match to Northern Iowa, a team that was in the top-25 earlier this season and has wins against No. 13 Creighton and No. 5 Kentucky. Deyshia Lofton and Abigail Westenhofer earned spots on the All-Tournament Team. Lofton hit .452 for the weekend with 35 kills on 62 swings with seven errors. Freshman Breana Edwards led the Hooseirs in kills on the weekend with 43.
The Opponents
The Hoosiers take on Xavier for the first time in program history to open the weekend and also battle Cincinnati and Eastern Kentucky. The Hoosiers are 8-6-1 against Cincinnati and 10-6 all-time vs. Eastern Kentucky. Xavier is 1-7 on the season with their only victory coming at Northern Illinois. Last weekend they took on Purdue, Louisville and Lipscomb in a Purdue tournament and won a set against the Boilermakers. Cincinnati comes in with a record of 7-2 on the season and have won their last two matches, against ETSU and Coastal Carolina. Eastern Kentucky is 1-8 on the season with a win against Cal State Fullerton. Indiana has won five in a row against Eastern Kentucky.
