No. 2 Hoosiers Win Eighth-Straight Match, Beat Northwestern 2-1

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 2-ranked Indiana University men's soccer team defeated the Northwestern Wildcats, 2-1, on Wednesday night at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington, Ind.
KEY MOMENTS
• In the 19th minute, Justin Rennicks scored on a great individual effort for the Hoosiers (8-1, 2-0 Big Ten). Rennicks carved through the Northwestern (4-3-2, 0-2-1) backline to create space for himself, cracking a shot low from 12-yards out to beat the NU goalie and give IU a 1-0 lead.
• The Wildcats notched the match at 1-1 in the 55th minute, as Matt Moderwell scored the equalizer from close range.
• Undeterred, the Hoosiers found a match-winner in the 87th minute on a goal from Griffin Dorsey. Spencer Glass made a tremendous play to slice through the NU defense, crossing the ball to the right side to Dorsey, who tapped it in from two-yards out.

• With the victory, Indiana has won eight-straight matches, the best streak since winning eight-consecutive last season.
• The Hoosiers are 2-0 in Big Ten play for the first time since the 2012 season.
• Indiana's 23 goals through the first nine matches of the season are the most for the program since scoring 26 in the first eight games in 1998.
• IU is 16-0-2 in the team's last 18 matches at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium. The last loss for the Hoosiers at home was to Virginia Tech in the third round of the NCAA Tournament on Nov. 27, 2016.
• Indiana had a season-high 22 shots in the match.
