
Indiana Returns Home to Close Out Non-Conference Play

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana Women's Soccer (3-1-1) returns to Bill Armstrong Stadium this weekend to close out the non-conference portion of the schedule. The Hoosiers will host Kentucky (3-3-0) on Friday at 5 p.m. as part of a doubleheader with the Indiana Men's Soccer team. Fans who are in Armstrong Stadium by the end of halftime of the women's game will get free admission to the men's game. IU will end the weekend by playing host to Kansas State (3-1-1) Sunday at 1 p.m.
Admission to all Indiana Women's Soccer home games is free of charge. Both games will be available for streaming on BTN Plus.
THIS WEEK'S PROMOS
• In addition to Friday's game being a doubleheader with the men's team, the first 150 fans in attendance will receive special script Indiana socks.
• On Sunday, the first 100 fans to Bill Armstrong Stadium will receive an Indiana seat cushion. In addition, players will be available for postgame autographs.
SCOUTING KENTUCKY
The Wildcats began the season 3-0, but have since lost three straight, including falling to Louisville and Eastern Kentucky last weekend. Kentucky has seen half of their matches go to overtime this season. with the Wildcats winning two of those contests. Yuuka Kurosaki and Hollie Olding have led the Kentucky offense with three goals apiece. Hannah Leonard has played every minute in goal, collecting 19 saves with a 1.45 goals against average. The Wildcats are coached by Ian Carry, who is in his second year at the helm.
The all-time series between Indiana and Kentucky is tied, 4-4-1. The last meeting between the teams resulted in a Wildcat victory in Lexington in 2010.
SCOUTING KANSAS STATE
Kansas State also started its year with a 3-0 mark before falling to No. 9 Santa Clara and drawing with San Jose State last weekend. Katie Cramer has scored two goals on the season while four other Wildcats have scored once. Goalkeeper Emma Malsy has played every minute, having surrendered just two goals on the year and recording four shutouts. Malsy has 22 saves to go with her 0.38 goals against average. Head coach Mike Dibbini is in his third year with Kansas State.
Sunday marks the first-ever meeting between Indiana and Kansas State, who started its women's soccer program in 2016.
LAST TIME OUT
• The Hoosiers visited the west coast last weekend and earned a pair of 2-1 victories against Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount.

• Redshirt senior Annelie Leitner was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after netting both game-winning goals for the Hoosiers. Leitner is the first offensive player to win a weekly Big Ten honor since 2013.
• For the year, Leitner has three goals - all of which have been game-winners, which is tied for the second-most in the nation. The Salzburg, Austria native has also added two assists as she has set new career highs in both goals and points.
• Senior Abby Allen leads the Hoosiers with four goals and saw her three-game scoring streak broken at Pepperdine. She remains tied for first in the Big Ten in goals and goals per game (0.80). Her 2.20 points per game average is tied for 15th most in the country and leads the conference.
• Indiana's offense has been hot to start the year, totaling 11 goals, the most through the first five games of the season since the 2012 campaign.
• Six different Hoosiers have scored this season, while nine have earned at least one point.
• On the other end, sophomore goalkeeper Bethany Kopel has been impressive between the pipes as she leads the Big Ten with 26 saves.
• Eight Hoosiers have seen their first career games in an Indiana uniform this season - graduate transfer Claudia Day, sophomores Maddie West, Nicolette Kapsalis, Camryn Carty and Ana Garibaldi and freshmen Maddie Essick, Madeline Carlson and Caitlin Arbuckle.
