The Opponents
North Dakota State has posted a record of 1-5 this season with their win coming against Niagara. Most recently NDSU played in a tournament hosted by Minnesota and dropped matches to the host Gophers, Arkansas and Georgia Southern. Northern Iowa started the season in impressive fashion with wins against #13 Creighton and #5 Kentucky. That put UNI at #17, but defeats against Iowa State and Washington State twice has dropped UNI out of the top-25. Ball State has a 4-2 mark on the season and have won three of their last four matches. Last weekend Ball State beat Grambling and Oral Robert and lost to host Missouri State.

On the Penn State Invitational
"It was great to be back at Penn State. I think 1-1, we were fortunate with the weekend. I think Texas A&M were a little ahead of where we were. Going into it was had a game plan, but it wasn't quite good enough. On the flipside, I was really pleased with how we battled against Temple. Temple has a great team. They are very foreign and very well coached. I thought we kept battling and some of our young kids played well."
On what needs to improve going forward
"We have about 15,000 things we need to get better at. The truth about this group is that they are a really good group of kids. They aren't ultra-competitive. I think the standards in practice have to be higher. What they desire out of this experience has to be more. I don't have a lot of time in my life for part-time people, so it's got to be an all-in thing and I think they are learning that and developing that. It's going to take time. This is not microwavable, it is a slow, baking process that is going to take years."
