Hoosiers Wrap Up Hosting the Gladstein Invite

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.— Indiana Track & Field returned to the Gladstein Fieldhouse on Saturday to wrap up day two of the Gladstein Invite.
In the 600m fast section, Cooper Williams and Kelsey Harris both set new PR's as Williams saw a time of 1:17.63 while Harris crossed in a time of 1:30.44.
It was a Hoosier sweep in the 600m run as Haley Harris and Aaron Bennett both finished first. Harris clocked a time of 1:31.93 and Bennett crossed in a time of 1:21.23.
Kelly Mindak ran unattached in the 800m fast section with a time of 2:11.83 to place second. Joely Pinkston placed fourth after finishing in a time of 2:13.32. On the men's side Kenneth Hagen ran unattached as he finished in first (1:51.06). Arjun Jha (1:53.06) also ran unattached in the event to placed second as Tony Newbern (1:54.76) took fifth to round out the trio of Hoosiers.
Jaela Gay took to the track in the 200m as she took the top spot in her heat and second overall with a time of 25.43.
Indiana saw their first competition in the 4x800 relays where both the men's and women's squads took first. On the men's side, Joe Murphy, Ben Veatch, Daniel Michalski, and Kyle Mau had a strong performance as they clocked a time 7:33.42. Hannah Stoffel, Bailey Hertenstein, Jenna Barker, and Haley Harris raced to a time of 8:54.20.
The 4x400 teams also earned the top sport in both men's and women's competition. Natalie Price, Kelsey Harris, Mallory Mulzer, and Jeyland Valentin clocked a time of 3:45.39. In the men's race, Isiah Ware, Zubin Muncherji, Adam Wallace, and Jalen Royal combined for a time of 3:14.05.
In field events, Treyton Harris competed in the men's long jump unattached where he placed first with a distance of 7.22m (23' 8.25").
David Schall snagged the top spot in the shot put with a distance of 10.08m (59' 4"). Nick Lane placed fourth after notching a distance of 16.48m (54' 1"). Khayla Dawson won the shot put on the women's side with a distance of 16.87m (55' 4.25"). Maddy Pollard took second after snagging a distance of 16.48m (54' 1").
Jyles Etienne had a solid performance in the high jump as he nabbed first after clearing a height of 2.13m (6' 11.75").
The Hoosiers will continue the homestand as they host Indiana Relays on Jan. 25 and 26. Action is slated to begin at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan.25.
