A Look at the Bruins
Because a doubleheader was postponed due to rain last week, seventh ranked UCLA's first match of the season will come against the Hoosiers. These two teams will meet for the first time in the history of the programs. UCLA is coming off a 30-3 campaign, 16-0 home mark, and a Pac-12 championship in 2018. The Bruins season concluded with a loss to Ohio State in the NCAA Semifinal Round.
A Look at the Toreros
San Diego began its season last Saturday with a 5-2 win over Utah State. If the Hoosiers would play San Diego, it would mark the first matchup between the two since March 23, 1987 (5-2 SD win). In the ITA singles rankings, SD has two members ranked, August Holmgren at No. 83 and Gui Osorio at No. 117. In doubles, the Toreros have the No. 12 ranked pair in Joel Gamerov and August Holmgren.
A Look at the Rebels
Ole Miss currently shares the same record as IU after two wins against North Alabama. The Rebels one loss came on Jan. 16 against No. 8 Texas, 7-0. The last time Mississippi and Indiana faced each other was Jan. 21, 2010 with the Rebels winning 5-0. For Ole Miss, Fabian Fallert and Finn Reynolds combine for the fifth best doubles pair in the ITA Rankings.
Last Week Recap
Against Dartmouth on Sunday, January 20, the Hoosiers suffered their first loss of the season with a 4-0 defeat.
