Indiana Women’s Golf Wraps Up Fall Play at Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Indiana Women's Golf concludes its fall play this weekend at Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C. The event tees off Friday at 8:30 a.m. as the teams will play one round each day concluding with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
• This year marks the 18th annual Landfall Tradition event, which the Hoosiers participated in during the 2003 season, finishing ninth. The Big Ten has a big presence in the event as seven teams will be competing at Landfall.
• The tournament features six teams that were named in the top-25 of this week's Golfstat rankings: No. 9 South Carolina, No. 10 Michigan State, No. 13 Alabama, No. 16 Oklahoma State, No. 19 Illinois and No. 20 Virginia Tech.
• The Hoosiers will tee off at 10:09 a.m. at the No. 10 tee.
Indiana in the Rankings
The Hoosiers came in at No. 59 in the Golfstat rankings and No. 60 in this week's Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings, with a rating of 72.61.
Returning Experience
Of this week's lineup, Parsons brings the most experience with 66 career rounds while Schmid follows right behind with 62. Schmid has already earned a Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Week honor as she tied for second in the season-opening Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational.
Freshmen Making Early Impression
Freshman Valerie Clancy is making her first appearance with the team as the other outing this year came as an individual at the Cardinal Classic. Clancy impressed in that event as she finished in third place. Meanwhile, Anni Eisenhut is making her fourth appearance of the young season and coming off her best showing at Medinah. Eisenhut posted a 72 in the opening round and ultimately finished tied for 38th at 5-over-par.
Tournament #1 Recap - Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational
The Hoosiers opened the season Sept. 9-10 at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. As a team, Indiana finished in seventh place. Priscilla Schmid tied for second place, finishing 7-under-par. For her efforts, Schmid earned Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Week accolades.
Tournament #2 Recap – East-West Match Play
In the two rounds of stroke play action, the Hoosiers tied for fourth place. Mary Parsons led the way as she tied for third place after shooting 3-under-par. Due to a tiebreaker, the team was awarded the fifth seed for one day of match play. The Hoosiers defeated Iowa, 4-1-0 in the lone match play round.
Tournament #3 Recap – Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah
Last time out, the Hoosiers finished 10th at Medinah on Oct. 7-8. IU was led by Parsons, who tied for 34th and carded a pair of par-72 rounds. Schmid also had a standout performance as she saved the best for last, posting a 2-under-par 70 in the final round.
