WILMINGTON, N.C. – Indiana women's golf junior Pricilla Schmid is tied for second after shooting a 3-under-par 69 in the opening round at the Landfall Tradition.

• The Hoosiers started play on the No. 10 tee.

• Schmid turned in the second-lowest round of her season, shooting a 69 to end the day tied for second. The junior turned in a 3-under 33 on the back nine to start the day, carding birdies on No. 13, 16 and 18. The only non-par or birdie hole she had was on No. 6. Schmid led the field in par-3 scoring (2.00 average, -4) and tied for the third most birdies on the day with five.

• Junior Mary Parsons also turned in a solid opening round performance, turning in a 1-over-par 73 to move into a tie for 29^th place. Parson birdied No. 15 and was 1-over at the turn before picking up birdies on No. 3 and 6 to make up for a double bogey on No. 2.

• Freshman Anni Eisenhut is currently tied for 49^th at 3-over-par. Eisenhut picked up a pair of birdies on the day on No. 7 and 16.

• Fellow freshman Valerie Clancy, who is making her team debut, carded a 4-over-par 76 and is tied for 65^th place. Her strongest part of the day came on the front nine, where she finished 1-over with a birdie on No. 6.

• Sophomore Alexis Miestowski is tied for 72^nd at 5-over-par. She was even through the back nine, including a birdie on No. 11, before running into some trouble on the front nine.
