
No. 10 Indiana Hosts Ohio State on Senior Night

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The No. 10-ranked Indiana University men's soccer team (10-2-3, 5-1-0 Big Ten) closes out the home slate of the 2019 regular-season schedule with a match against the Ohio State Buckeyes (6-8-1, 1-4-1 Big Ten). The match is scheduled to begin at 8 PM ET on Oct. 29 at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
Indiana will honor four seniors, Joris Ahlinvi, Sean Caulfield, Jordan Kleyn, and Simon Waever, as part of the program's Senior Night festivities.

SETTING THE SCENE
• After struggling to find the back of the net with one goal in three matches from Oct. 9-18, Indiana has erupted for eight goals in the last two matches. The Hoosiers defeated Rutgers by a tally of 3-0 the last time out.
• Last season, the Hoosiers won both the Big Ten regular season championship (15th time) and Big Ten Tournament championship (13th time) in the same season for the first time since 2006.
• Also, IU advanced to the College Cup for the second-straight year and for a NCAA-record 20th time in program history.
• Indiana earned the No. 2 overall for the 2018 NCAA Tournament, marking the 14th time in the last 16 years since the current seeding format began in 2003 that IU earned a top-16 seed.
• The berth for the Hoosiers was the team's 32nd-straight bid to the NCAA Tournament and the 43rd overall in the program's history.
SCOUTING THE BUCKEYES
• The Ohio State Buckeyes enter the Tuesday night match in Bloomington with an overall record of 6-8-1 and a Big Ten Conference mark of 1-4-1. Ohio State is 1-7-1 in the team's last nine matches after starting the season 5-1.
• The Buckeyes are coached by former Indiana assistant coach and All-American player Brian Maisonneuve. During his time in Bloomington, Maisonneuve helped lead Indiana to eight NCAA Tournament appearances, including two College Cups, and four NCAA Sweet 16 appearances. He was part of Todd Yeagley's staff for nine years, coached nine All-Americans and 22 players who went on to play professional soccer.
• Ohio State bolsters two double-digit scorers in senior Jack Holland and redshirt sophomore Devyn Etling. Holland paces the Buckeyes with 15 points (four goals, seven assists), while Etling leads OSU in goals with five and has tallied 11 total points.
• Fifth-year goalkeeper Parker Siegfried holds down the defensive unit for the Buckeyes. He has surrendered 22 goals in 14 games played (1.54 goals per game) and holds a save percentage of 0.639 after turning away 39-of-61 shots on frame this season.
• Ohio State was selected eighth in the preseason Big Ten Conference poll according to the league's head coaches.

• Indiana holds a commanding 43-5-4 series edge over Ohio State. IU won the first 26 contests between the two schools from 1973 until OSU finally earned a 1-0 decision on Nov. 13, 2000.
• The Hoosiers are unbeaten in each of the last four matches with the Buckeyes dating back to the 2015 season.

• Senior transfer Joris Ahlinvi notched his second goal in a Hoosier uniform off a set piece in the 53rd minute. Morris sent in a free kick from nearly midfield that found Ahlinvi 12-yards away from goal. His header opened the Hoosier scoring.
• Redshirt sophomore Joe Schmidt recorded his first career goal in the 71st minute of action.

• Indiana's undefeated streak of 32 regular-season, Big Ten conference matches, was snapped in a 3-0 loss at No. 25 Maryland. During the unbeaten streak, the Hoosiers posted a record of 23-0-9.
• Prior to the loss to Maryland, IU's last league loss in the regular season came on Oct. 10, 2015 in overtime at Ohio State, 1-0.
