Strong Second Round Has Indiana in Third Place at Marquette Intercollegiate

HARTFORD, Wis. – After improving the team score by 19 strokes in the second round of the Marquette Intercollegiate, Indiana men's golf has moved into third place ahead of Tuesday's final round. The Hoosiers have three in the field's top 20, with all five in the top 35.

• The Hoosiers currently lead the field in birdies with 32 combined in the first two rounds.
• Sparrow improved his second-round score by one stroke as he finished the day at an even-72. Overall, he is 1-over-par and stands tied for 12th place. Sparrow parred the first eight holes before recording back-to-back birdies on holes No. 18 and 1.
• Sophomore Harry Reynolds' fired up a 69 in Monday's round, an eight-stroke improvement from yesterday. The 69 matches his second-best low round in his career. Reynolds carded five birdies, including the final two holes of the day. He is currently tied for 17th overall at 2-over-par while his eight total birdies are tied for the third-most in the field.
• Fellow sophomore Mitch Davis is also tied for 17th as he turned in a 2-under-par day, a six-stroke improvement from Monday. Davis also collected five birdies, with three of those coming in the first seven holes he played.
• Junior Ethan Shepherd registered the biggest jump from Monday, carding a 70 in the second round to improve by nine strokes. After a pair of bogeys in the first three holes, he then carded five birdies and parred every other hole except for one.
• Senior Brock Ochsenreiter's best performance on Monday came before the turn, as he carded a 35 on the back nine with three birdies. He finished the day shooting 5-over-par and tied for 34th.
• Freshman Drew Giacchetto, who entered the tournament as an individual, shot a 6-over-par 78 with three birdies. However, Giacchetto was disqualified from Sunday's first round over a scorecard error.
