IUXC Poised for Big Ten Championships on Sunday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Cross Country will embark on their postseason venture starting with Big Ten Championships on Sunday, Nov. 3. The men's 8k race will begin at 10:45a with the women's 6k race to follow.
Ohio State plays host to this year's championships. The meet will be ran at the Ohio State University Golf Club in Columbus, Ohio.
On the men's side, four teams in Sunday's race are ranked in the USTFCCCA Coaches Poll. Purdue (9), Indiana (13), Wisconsin (14), and Michigan (17) all enter the weekend ranked nationally as well as in the top five of the Great Lakes Regional poll.
Jake Gebhardt, Dustin Horter, Arjun Jha, Reese Jordan, Kyle Mau, Bryce Millar, Matthew Schadler, Ben Veatch and Cooper Williams will all suit up for the Hoosiers. Mau leads the Hoosiers by placing in the top 10 at every meet he has ran in this season. Just a year ago, the senior finished seventh individually at the conference meet while as a team Indiana placed third with 108 points.
In the women's field, seven teams enter Sunday's race ranked in the top 25. Wisconsin (7), Michigan (8), Michigan State (9), Illinois (19), Ohio State (21), Indiana (23) and Minnesota (25) are all ranked through five weeks of the USTFCCCA Coaches Poll. Regionally four of the top five teams belong to the Big Conference—Wisconsin (1), Michigan (2), Michigan State (3), and Ohio State (5).
Jenna Barker, Maddie Dalton, Abby Green, Kelsey Harris, Bailey Hertenstein, Abi Little, Mikaela Ramirez, Sarah Schmitt, and Grace Walther will run for the Hoosiers. Hertenstein, Harris , and Walther are the only three Hoosiers returning to this meet for Indiana from a year ago. Hertenstein placed 28th last year while Harris picked up 52nd and Walther finished in 88th. As a squad, the Hoosiers finished fifth with 11o points.
