Bloomington, Ind. – The Indiana men's tennis team (4-4) dropped a match, 4-2, to the Arizona State Sun Devils (3-4) on Sunday afternoon inside the IU Tennis Center. The Hoosiers came away with wins at No. 1 and No. 5 singles in the loss.

IU opened the match by losing the doubles point after falling at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. At the remaining No. 3 spot, Zac Brodney and Andrew Redding were playing close with the nation's No. 26 ranked pair before the match went unfinished.

Freshman Carson Haskins answered in singles and tied the match at 1-1 when he won 6-2, 6-4 on No. 5.

On court Nos. 2 and 4, the Sun Devils won matches to jump ahead on the scoreboard 3-1.

Facing the No. 65 ranked player in the country, senior Antonio Cembellin took care of the No. 1 spot with a 6-2, 7-6 win. Cembellin won the second set tiebreaker 11-9 after facing set point deficits twice.

Despite a push on the two remaining courts from IU, the Sun Devils clinched the match victory with a win on No. 6.

Up next, the Hoosiers hit the road for two matches in Des Moines, Iowa. The first match will come against Drake on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 7 PM and then the weekend concludes with a Sunday, Feb. 17 match against Utah State beginning at 1 PM. After next weekend, IU will host four matches over a three week span.
