Indiana Opens 2019 Campaign at Memphis

• Indiana opens up the 2019 campaign with six-game road trip, starting with the Memphis Tigers this weekend.
• Friday will be the sixth ever meeting between IU and Memphis, as the two squads last met on March 3, 2007, a 5-3 victory for the Tigers.
• Memphis leads the all-time series between the two schools, 3-2.
• Indiana Head Coach Jeff Mercer enters his first season with the Hoosiers and his 10th overall year in coaching collegiately. He has posted a 77-48 career record after leading Wright State to winning seasons in each of his
two years with the Raiders, including a 2018 Horizon League title and NCAA Regional appearance.
• Memphis head coach Daron Schoenrock enters his 15th season at the helm of the Tiger baseball program. The 2013 Conference USA Coach of the Year, Schoenrock has compiled a 382-427 record in 14 years at Memphis and an overall mark of 407-481.
• Since the start of the 2008 season, Indiana leads the Big Ten in wins (384) and conference wins (161). The Hoosiers have made six NCAA Regionals over that span, the most out of any current Big Ten team.
• For the fifth time in six years, Indiana was selected to the 2018 NCAA Baseball Tournament field. The No. 2-seeded Hoosiers played in the Austin Regional and reached the Regional final, eventually falling to Texas, 3-2.
• IU picked up eight All-Big Ten honors in 2018. The Hoosiers had three first team honorees, Matt Gorski, Matt Lloyd, Jonathan Stiever, the most since 2014.
• Pauly Milto earned second team All-Conference honors while Scotty Bradley earned a spot on the second team as well. Logan Sowers and Luke Miller picked up third team recognition, while Drew Ashley earned a spot on the all-freshman team.
• The seven combined first, second and third team selections were tied for the conference lead with Minnesota.
• Senior Matt Lloyd, junior Tanner Gordon and junior Matt Gorski were named Indiana's three Players to Watch by the Big Ten.
• Gorski picked up a handful of preseason honors, including preseason All-American laurels from the NCBWA, D1 Baseball and Perfect Game.
• Lloyd additionally joined Gorski in earning preseason All-American honors, picking up nod from Perfect Game and Collegiate Baseball.
