IU Women’s Swimming & Diving Set to Host Big Ten Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The No. 17-ranked Indiana University women's swimming and diving team will host the 2019 Big Ten Women's Swimming and Diving Championships this week at the Counsilman Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington, Ind.
The four-day meet will begin with on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. On Thursday through Saturday, the teams will swim a preliminary session in the morning at 11 a.m. with the championship session to follow at 6:30 p.m.

The Big Ten Championships will be streamed live via BTN Plus on BTN2Go. Complimentary access to BTN2Go is available to viewers connected to the internet network of a Big Ten university. Fans elsewhere can sign up for the pay-per-view webcasts.
Parking Information
The parking lots surrounding the Counsilman Billingsley Aquatics Center are permit only and are not open to fans. Anyone parking in these lots are subject to being ticketed and towed. Only those with valid ADA parking permits will be allowed to park in the CBAC parking lot. All others should park in Memorial Stadium Green Lot (Gate12) or Orange Lot (Gate 4). - Shuttle is Free and will run every 15 minutes
- Shuttle service will begin 2 hours prior to the start of each session and will end 45 minutes after the conclusion of each session

Scouting the Hoosiers
Indiana enters this week's Big Ten Championships ranked No. 17 in the nation in the latest CSCAA/TYR Top 25 poll. IU is one of four Big Ten teams ranked in the national poll – Michigan (No. 3), Minnesota (No. 22) and Wisconsin (No. 24).
During the dual-meet season this year, the Hoosiers posted an overall record of 4-3-1 against one of the hardest schedules in the country. IU earned victories over No. 14 Kentucky, No. 15 Missouri, No. 16 Louisville and Big Ten-rival Purdue. The Hoosiers also tied No. 18 Notre Dame.
Big Ten Championship History
The Indiana Hoosiers women's swimming and diving team has won five conference championships in program history.
IU has placed first or second at the Big Ten Championships in each of the last 10 years, winning the title three-straight times from 2009 to 2011. The Hoosiers have finished second the last seven seasons. Indiana also won the league title in 2003 and 2007.
2018 Big Ten Championships
At last season's Big Ten Championships, Indiana finished in second place with a total score of 1,152.5 points. Michigan won the team title with a score of 1,465, while Ohio State placed third with a total of 1,094.5. IU scored 27.5 more points than the team did in 2017 at the Big Ten's.
For the week, Indiana won 10 medals – five gold, one silver and four bronze. Grace Haskett, Lilly King, Jessica Parratto and Ali Rockett all earned First-Team All-Big Ten honors.
King won her third-straight league crowns in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, while Jessica Parratto took gold in the platform dive. IU also won Big Ten titles in the 200 and 400 medley relays.
Over the course of the 2018 Big Ten Championships, the Hoosiers posted some impressive accolades. Indiana broke two school records, two Big Ten records, two Big Ten meet records and six McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion pool records. IU also amassed seven NCAA A cut times and had 58 personal-best marks.
