
IU Track & Field Poised for B1G Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.— Indiana Track & Field will begin postseason action this weekend at Big Ten Championships. The two-day meet will be hosted by the University of Michigan inside the U-M Indoor Track Building on Feb 22-23. The women's heptathlon will kick off the championship weekend for Hoosiers on Friday at 10:50 a.m.
Meet Information
Reserved seating is available—located in the two sections directly in front of the finish line—tickets are available for $30 for an all-session pass and $18 for a single-session ticket. General admission tickets are also available throughout the remainder of the facility— $20 for an all-session pass and $12 for a single-session ticket.
The Big Ten Championships will broadcast live on BTN Plus and FloTrack. All field events will also broadcast on exclusively on FloTrack.

Schedule of Events
The meet will consist of 18 events—13 track events, six field events, men's heptathlon, and women's pentathlon.
Friday's track schedule of events—3000m (unseeded), 60m hurdles (prelims), 60m (prelims), mile (prelims), 400m (prelims), 800m (prelims), 600m (prelims), 200m (prelims), 3000m (finals), DMR (final).
Friday's field schedule of events—Weight throw (men's), pole vault (women's), high jump (men's), long jump (men's & women's), weight throw (women's).
Saturday's track events—5000m (unseeded), 60m hurdles (final), 60m (final), mile (final), 400 (final), 800m (final), 600m (final), 200m (final), 5000m (final), 4x400 relay (final).
Saturday's field events—triple jump (men's), shot put (men's & women's), triple jump (women's), high jump (women's), pole vault (men's).

Making Strides
Indiana continues to see multiple student athletes in NCAA qualifying positions this weekend. 10 Hoosiers along with two relay teams claim Top-16 times in the NCAA in their respective events so far this season.

Keeping Up with the Hoosiers
After breaking the school record, the men's DMR team currently holds the fastest time in the NCAA so far this season. The Hoosiers ran a time of 7:29.30. Both the men's and women's 4x800 relays squads also hold national leading spots. The women's team consisting of Hannah Stoffel, Bailey Hertenstein, Jenna Barker, and Haley Harris nabbed a time of 8:54.20 at the Gladstein Invite. On the men's side, Joe Murphy, Ben Veatch, Daniel Michalski, and Kyle Mau saw a time of 7:33.42 also at the Gladstein Invite.
Rikkoi Brathwaite and Zubin Muncherji have seen success so far in their college careers, but also have had success in their home countries. Brathwaite is a native of the British Virgin Islands and now holds the country's record in the 60-meter with a time of 6.68. Muncherji calls Singapore home and holds four records in various events including the 200m (22.60), 400m (47.82), 500m (1;04.38), and 600m (1:21.99).

In the final USTFCCCA Indoor Rating Index of the regular season, the Indiana men's team came in ranked No. 11 in the nation.
Heading into Big Ten Championships weekend, the men's squad holds the top spot in the Great Lakes Region while the women are ranked No. 2. On the women's side, Big Ten foe Ohio State controls the top spot.
