Brinkley Breaks School Record to Cap Off Night of Success for the Hoosiers

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.— Indiana Track & Field competed in a three-meet slate on Friday night. Remaining home to host Hoosier Hills, Princess Brinkley broke the school record in the weight throw. Maggie Allen and Ben Veatch both set personal records in the invitational 5k at the Iowa State Classic. A group of Hoosiers also competed at the Tyson Invite hosted by Arkansas.
Hoosier Hills
Princess Brinkley continued to see success as she set a new school record in the weight throw. The redshirt sophomore threw a distance of 21.53m (70' 7.75"). Her teammates followed right behind her in third and fourth. Nycia Ford threw a distance of 20.55m (67' 5.25") while Alexis Hill saw a distance of 20.55m (66' 7").
Anna Watson also had a record setting day as she saw a PR in the pole vault. She cleared a height of 4.21m (13' 9.75") on her way to third place. Kara Deady also competed in the pole vault and placed fourth with a height of 3.81m (12' 6").
The sprints were on full display Friday night, taking the top spots in three events. William Session grabbed first in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.05. Megan Grabowski and Rikkoi Brathwaite helped the Hoosiers sweep the 60m finals. Grabowski recorded a time of 7.62 while Brathwaite clocked a time of 6.78.
Brahtwaite saw more success in the 200m as he notched second place with a time of 21.80. Nate Davis finished in third after seeing a time of 21.81.
Jeyland Valentin competed in the 400m where she finished first after clocking a time of 57.85. In the fast section for the men, Zubin Muncherji (49.07) and Derek Grimmer (49.11) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Abi Little ran unattached in the women's one mile to set a personal record with a time of 4:54.55. Josey Korte finished fourth in the mile in a time of 4:57.70. On the men's side, Dustin Horter continued his success while running unattached as he took the top spot with a time of 4:08.07.
Indiana saw two unattached runners take first in the 3000m. Sarah Schmitt clocked a time of 9:37.73 while on the men's side Arjun Jha finished in a time of 8:15.54. Reese Jordan competed in the Hoosier uniform and placed in the top five with a time of 8:23.31.
