FORT MYERS, Fla. – No. 19 Indiana Softball wrapped up a seven-game road trip with a doubleheader split against Florida Gulf Coast. The Eagles won game one, 3-1, before the Hoosiers responded with a 2-0 shutout victory in the nightcap.
The twinbill marked the end of 26-straight games away from Bloomington as Indiana enters this weekend's Hoosier Classic at Andy Mohr Field with a 22-4 record.
Game One: FGCU 3, No. 19 Indiana 1
KEY MOMENTS
• Indiana used back-to-back extra base hits in the fourth to take a 1-0 lead. After sophomore Grayson Radcliffe led off with a triple to right field, she was brought home by a stand-up double from junior Katie Lacefield.
• The Eagles took a 3-1 advantage in the fifth on a bases-clearing double by Racquel Fournet. FGCU had loaded the bases on a pair of walks and IU fielding error.
• IU looked to rally in the sixth as Lacefield drew a two-out walk and junior Bella Norton doubled to left to put two in scoring position. However, a long flyout to right field ended the threat.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Senior Tara Trainer took the loss moving her record to 16-2 on the season. Trainer went 5.0 innings and struck out three with all three runs coming unearned.
• Freshman Natalie Foor had a productive inning in relief as she struck out two allowed one walk in the sixth frame.
• Eagles pitcher Riley Randolph tossed a complete game, allowing six IU hits with two walks and eight strikeouts.
• Norton went 2-for-3 at the plate, continuing her hot hitting.
• Radcliffe's triple was the second of her career. She also had one against Stephen F. Austin on March 1.
Game Two: No. 19 Indiana 2, FGCU 0
KEY MOMENTS
• After a quiet start for both offenses, Indiana's bats woke up in the fifth. After back-to-back one-out singles by sophomore Taylor Lambert and junior Gabbi Jenkins, Lacefield singled to right field to plate Lambert and give IU a 1-0 lead. Norton was intentionally walked to load the bases before a double play ball limited the damage.
• The Eagles loaded the bases in the sixth on an error, single to first base and walk in their biggest offensive threat of the day. However, junior pitcher Emily Goodin forced a pop-up in foul territory to Lacefield to leave them load.
• Indiana tacked on an insurance run in the seventh sparked by a leadoff walk to freshman Tete Hart and a single from Lambert. Jenkins then laid down a squeeze, allowing enough time for Hart to score. Lambert also attempted to come in on the play but was thrown out at home.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Goodin struck out eight and allowed just one walk and four hits in the win, improving her record to 4-0.
• Lacefield's RBI single extended her hitting streak to 11 games, the longest since Rebecca Blitz put together a 23-game streak in 2018.

HEAD COACH SHONDA STANTON
"It's nice to wrap up this 26-game on-the-road swing, particularly over the last five days we've played seven games so nice to come away with a win. This was the first time all year that we've dropped back-to-back games coming from Sunday off of Furman and then today in the first game.
"I'm really pleased with this ballclub. We've been on the road for 26 games and we're sitting at 22-4, I would take that any year, any day of the week. I'm really proud of this group and we can't wait to get back and play at Andy Mohr Field in front of our home fans."
