BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana Softball (25-9) wraps up its non-conference slate with a midweek visit to Louisville (20-10) on Tuesday evening. The Cardinals are 20-10 on the year and an even 3-3 in ACC play. Last weekend, Louisville dropped the first two games of the series to Notre Dame before bouncing back for a win in the finale. Indiana and Louisville have already played a pair of common opponents with the Cardinals dropping three close games to Northwestern and defeating Mercer in five innings, 14-0. Louisville is batting .291 as a team, with three batting above .300. Rebecca Chung (.377, 23 hits, 22 RBI) and Celene Funk (.356, 37 hits, 26 runs, 8 triples) lead the way offensively. In the circle, the Cardinals have posted a team ERA of 2.21, relying primarily on Danielle Watson (2.57 ERA, 6-8, 79,0 IP) and Megan Hensley (2.14 ERA, 8-1, 65.1 IP). The Hoosiers could also see Taylor Roby, who has a team-best 1.84 ERA with a 6-1 record in 45.2 IP.
Louisville leads the all-time series, 17-3, with Indiana's last victory coming in 2014. Last season the Cardinals won a high-scoring 11-7 game in Bloomington with Watson earning the win in the circle. Bella Norton had a 2-for-4 outing with four RBI to lead Indiana. The last time the teams met in Louisville, the Cardinals earned a 2-1 2018 victory.
LAST TIME OUT
Indiana opened Big Ten play last weekend, dropping all three games of the series to Ohio State.
