IUTF Splits to Compete at Pepsi Florida Relays and Stanford Invite

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.— Indiana Track & Field will split up for the first time this outdoor season as they will send a group of distance runners to the Stanford Invite and the remaining student-athletes will travel to Gainesville, Fla. to compete in the annual Pepsi Florida Relays. Florida Relays kickoffs off Thursday Mar. 28 and will wrap up on Saturday Mar 30. The Stanford Invite will begin Friday, Mar. 29 and conclude for Saturday Mar. 30.
Meet Schedule: Pepsi Florida Relays
Indiana will be competing in the 25 events— 16 track events and nine field events.
Thursday's Track Schedule of Events— open 200m (men's and women's), open 400m (men's), open 400m hurdles (men's & women's), 5000m (men's)
Friday's Track Schedule of Events—collegiate 100m (men's), collegiate 400m (women's), 800m (men's & women's), 4x400 relay prelims (men's & women's), 1500m (men's & women's), 3K Steeplechase (women's)
Friday's Field Schedule of Events— hammer (women's), high jump invite (men's), discus (men's), pole vault (women's), long jump (women's), hammer invite (men's), discus invite (women's)

The Hoosiers will compete in three events at the Invite. All three are scheduled for Friday, Mar. 29.
Friday's Schedule of Events—3K Steeplechase (men's), 5000m (men's & women's), 10000m (men's & women's)
Last time out: ASU Invite
Indiana began the outdoor season at the ASU Invite this past weekend. 13 events were won by the Hoosiers as two runners grabbed new personal records. This weekend's winners for the men were the 4x100 and 4x400 relay team, Rikkoi Brathwaite (100m & 200m), Cooper Williams (800m), Kenneth Hagen (1500m), Shaton Vaughn (400m hurdles), and Jyles Etienne (high jump). On the women's side, Natalie Price (200m), Kelsey Harris (800m), Anna Watson (pole vault), and Leah Moran won their respective events. Hagen also recorded a PR in the 1500m with a time of 3:46.54. Haley Harris saw a PR in the 800m after clocking a time of 2:08.07
Looking Back: 2018 Stanford Invite
At the Stanford Invite last season, Katherine Receveur broke her own school record in the 5000m as she recorded a time of 15:43.26. In the same race, senior Maggie Allen moved up to second on the list after notching a time of 15:51.73.
Success at Florida Relays
Last season at the Pepsi Florida Relays, the women's sprint medley highlighted a slate of records broken. The relay team broke the school record in a time of 3:49.08 on their way to first place. The record was previously held by Bailey, Clarke, Gray, and Beckwith in 2010. Both men's and women's 4x800 relays squads moved up to second in the record books as the women clocked a time of 8:38.26 while the men finished in a time of 7:20.23. Individually, seven Hoosiers broke personal records and one broke the collegiate best.
In the Rankings
USTFCCCA announced their first outdoor ratings index on Monday Mar. 18. In the preseason ratings the Hoosiers men were ranked 24th while the women were tabbed for 30th.
