Indiana Track & Field Ready for the Nation’s Biggest Collegiate Stage

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.— Indiana Track & Field is ready for the final round of the 2019 outdoor season as they will see a stint at the nation's biggest collegiate stage. The Hoosiers will compete at NCAA Outdoor Championships this week in Austin, Texas. Championships are set to begin on Wednesday, June 5 and wrap up on Saturday, June 8.
Indiana Schedule of the Events
Wednesday Track Events (men's)—1500m (semifinal), steeplechase (semifinal), 800m (semifinal), & 10,000m (final).
Wednesday Field events (men's)—pole vault (final).
Thursday Track Events (women's)—800m (semifinal) & 10,000m (final).
Thursday Field Events (women's)—hammer (final) & shot put (final).
Friday Track Events (men's)—1,500m (final; if necessary), steeplechase (final; if necessary), 800m (final; if necessary), & 5,000m (final).
Friday Field Events (men's)— high jump (final) & triple jump (final).
Saturday Track Events (women's)— 800m (final; if necessary).

17 Hoosiers are headed to Austin, Texas for NCAA Championships after earning NCAA East Prelim qualifying marks two weeks ago. Maggie Allen (10K), Eric Bethea (Triple), Teddy Browning (1500m), Adam Coulon (pole vault), Khayla Dawson (shot), Jyles Etienne (high jump), Nycia Ford (hammer), Kenneth Hagen (1500m), Kelsey Harris (800m), Brock Mammoser (pole vault), Kyle Mau (5K), Daniel Michalski (steeple), Leah Moran (triple), Joe Murphy (1500m), Maddy Pollard (shot), Cooper Williams (800m), and Ben Veatch (10K) will represent the cream & crimson this week after qualifying for the respective events.

Five current Hoosiers punched their tickets to NCAA Championships last season at NCAA Prelims in Tampa, Fla. Cooper Williams, Joe Murphy, Adam Coulon, Ben Veatch, and Maggie Allen all advanced to nationals last season. Coulon climbed the record books in his championships debut last season as he set a then PR of 5.45m (17' 10.5"). The Downs Ill. collected second All-America honors. The closest school is Iowa who has 10 entries. For the women, the six entries are tied for third most in the Big Ten. They are tied with Minnesota who also has six. The 17 combined entries lead the conference. Ohio State comes in close second with 16.

Indiana men made their return to the USTFCCCA national ratings index on May 27. The Hoosiers had a final ranking of No. 22 headed into national championships week.
USTFCCCA announced their final weekly regional ratings index on Monday May 13. Both squads checked in at No.2 in the Great Lakes Region. Ohio State owns the top spot in both polls.
