Hoosiers Travel to Louisville for Thursday Matchup

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana Women's Soccer (1-2-0) travels to Louisville, Ky. for a Thursday evening matchup with the Cardinals (4-0-0), who received 28 votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches Poll. The game will be played at Louisville's Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium, which opened in 2014.
Thursday's game will be streamed live on ACCNX, which is available through Watch ESPN.
SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
• The Cardinals have opened the year 4-0, including a pair of victories against common opponents with Indiana in Ohio State and Morehead State. Louisville's offense has been led by Emina Ekic, who has scored twice and added a pair of assists. Also dangerous on the attack are Brooklynn Rivers and Maisie Whitsett, who have each scored twice. In goal, Gabby Kouzelos has allowed just one goal all season and has collected six saves with a pair of shutouts.
• In 2018, the Cardinals earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after posting a 12-7 record.
• The Hoosiers lead the all-time series against Louisville, 2-1-1. The teams last played in 2017 as the Cardinals came away with a 2-0 win in Bloomington. The last meeting in Louisville resulted in a 2-1 Indiana victory in 1997.
LAST TIME OUT
• Indiana visited another Bluegrass State team last week in Murray State, falling to the Racers, 2-1.
• Freshman Jaimie Tottleben netted her first career goal on an equalizer in the 50th minute. Murray State found the game-winner in the 81st minute of play.
IMMEDIATE IMPACT
• Three freshmen earned starts in their first three career games – Alaina Kalin, Avery Lockwood and Tottleben. In addition, sophomore transfer Oliwia Wos has also start each of the first three contests.
ROAD WARRIORS
• Of Indiana's seven non-conference games, just two will be played at home (UIC and Morehead State).
• Indiana's non-conference road slate includes three different states - North Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee.
NEWS AND NOTES
• Indiana has created opportunities on the attack as the Hoosiers have earned 15 corner kicks compared to 10 for opponents. In addition, IU has matched its opponents with 15 shots on goal.
• Junior goalkeeper Bethany Kopel has 197 saves in her career, good for fifth all-time at Indiana. In addition, her 10.0 shutouts are good for seventh all-time in program history, as are her 15 victories.
• Davidson earned the title of team captain for the season.
• The 2019 broadcast schedule was announced last week as the Hoosiers will see a pair of games broadcast live on Big Ten Network - Penn State (Oct. 10) and Maryland (Oct. 17).
