Indiana Set to Host Miami and Ball State on First Weekend Home Slate

Bloomington, Ind.— Indiana Field Hockey will see their first full weekend home stand of the season as they welcome Miami (OH) to town on Friday, Sept. 6 at 3 p.m. and Ball State on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 1 p.m.. Both games will be part of Alumni Weekend and can be streamed on BTN+.
Week 2:
Friday, September 6 – Indiana vs. Miami (OH) – 3:00 p.m. ET – IU Field Hockey Field

CORNER HITS
Last Time: Weekend Split
Indiana Field Hockey split their first weekend of the season by traveling to No. 12 Louisville last Friday and hosting Drexel on Sunday. In their game against the Cardinals, the Hoosiers saw shots from senior captain Ciara Girouard and sophomore Hailey Couch. The Louisville attack proved too strong as Indiana dropped the match, 5-0.
Last Sunday, the Hoosiers made quick adjustments that led to six different student-athletes tallying shots. Kelsey Giese led the shot column with seven shots including three that were on target. Mary Kate Kesler, Kennedy Reardon, and Sheridan Weiss all had goals as Indiana was able to down the Dragons in double overtime, 4-3. Weiss played hero as she had the game winning goal.
Alumni Weekend
This weekend will serve at Indiana Field Hockey's annual alumni weekend. IUFH alumni from around the country will gather to celebrate the past and present.
Career Firsts
With the victory over Drexel on Sunday, head coach Kayla Bashore earned her first career win at the helm of the field hockey program. On the field, freshmen Tori Hill earned her first career start in an Indiana uniform. Freshman Kennedy Reardon scored her first career goal that was unassisted off a deflected shot. Senior Sheridan Weiss also saw her first game where she had the game winning goal.
