BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Falling behind early, Indiana Field Hockey couldn't overcome a strong second half by the Miami RedHawks as it fell 5-2 on Friday afternoon.

KEY MOMENTS
- The RedHawks (1-2) went up 1-0 on a goal in the 12th minute by Marie Gorner as the only goal of the first quarter.
- In the second, Miami added to its lead at the 18th minute on an unassisted goal by Lexi Silver. The Hoosiers were only able to get two shots off in the first half as Miami would take a 2-0 lead at the break.
- After an early third quarter score from their opponent, IU struck on a goal from junior midfielder Savannah Bucher with an assist from senior midfielder Jessica Morford in the 36th minute
- But back-to-back goals from Miami would seal the Hoosiers fate as sophomore forward Hailey Couch added an unassisted goal in the 52nd minute of action.
NOTABLE
- Bucher and Couch both recorded their first goals of the 2019 season.
- Miami outshot the Hoosiers, 20-8. They also led in corners, 10-4.
- Junior goalkeeper Sachi Ananias recorded four saves.
- Indiana falls to 12-8 in the all-time series.
