BLOOMINGTON, Ind.– It was a tough night inside the IU Tennis Center for the Hoosiers as they fell 4-0 to Kentucky on Friday night.
IU jumped out to a quick start at the No. 1 and No. 2 Doubles spots but couldn't control the match and eventually fell as Kentucky picked up the crucial doubles point.
Seniors Annabelle Andrinopoulos and Caitlin Bernard gave IU a spark at their singles positions, winning both of their first sets but both ended with unfinished matches.
Ultimately it wouldn't be enough as Kentucky powered its way through the bottom of the lineup to take points at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 Singles to win 4-0 in a shortened match.
IU falls to 1-2 on the season and returns to action Sunday for matches against Xavier and Western Michigan.
