Hoosiers Outlast Notre Dame, 4-3

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana men's tennis team prevailed 4-3 over Notre Dame on Saturday at the IU Tennis Center.
The win for the Hoosiers is there first win over Notre Dame since Feb. 29, 2012. Notre Dame had won the last two matches in the series, including a 7-0 win in South Bend in 2017.
The Hoosiers (3-2) lost the doubles, point but came out strong in singles as they won four out of six first sets in singles.
Patrick Fletchall, Vikash Singh and Luka Vukovic put Indiana in a position to win as they won singles matches to tie the match score 3-3.
All eyes turned to Carson Haskins, who dropped his first set, but battled back to win his second set and force a deciding third set.
Haskins got a break and went up 3-2, but trailed 4-3 in the final set. Using the momentum of the home crowd, Haskins went up 5-4 and served for the match to give the Hoosiers the 4-3 win.
Up next the Hoosiers travel to Middle Tennessee State for a match on Friday Feb. 7 at 5:00 p.m.
