Indiana University is in its 120th season of competition in men's basketball and continues a stretch of 4 of 5 on the road when it goes to Minnesota on Wednesday. The Hoosiers are coming off an 89-65 loss at Michigan, while the Gophers fell at home to Iowa, 58-55. According to ESPN's BPI, the Hoosiers are projected to have the 5th toughest strength of schedule in the country for the remainder of the season.

THE COACHES
Indiana Coach Archie Miller is in his third season of guiding the Cream and Crimson. He is 190-102 in eight-plus years as a head coach, which includes six years at the University of Dayton. His Flyer teams made NCAA Tournament appearances in each of his last four seasons, including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2014. He is 51-40 at IU. Richard Pitino is in his 7th year with the Gophers and is 124-104.

Senior De'Ron Davis tied a school record by making all 9 of his field goal attempts against Michigan (Will Sheehey, 2013 vs. Purdue). Davis' previous best came in a 7-for-7 effort against Iowa in the 2017 Big Ten Tournament.
Freshman Trayce Jackson-Davis has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week four times this season. He is averaging a team-best 13.6 points and 7.7 rebounds. He is just one of four freshman nationally (Vernon Carey, Jr. - Duke, Zeke Nnaji - Arizona and Isiah Stewart - Washington) to lead his team in scoring, rebounds, field goal percentage, free throws made and free throws attempted and blocked shots. In the Big Ten, Jackson-Davis is tied as the top freshman scorer overall and in conference games (12.4). He also leads in overall and conference play in field goal percentage (59.1 and 53.5), blocked shots (1.9 and 1.9), free throws made (100 and 52) and attempts (140 and 71). He is second overall and in league games in rebounding (7.7 and 7.0). He is 9th in the Big Ten in rebounding, 3rd in field goal percentage and 7th in blocked shots.
Junior Aljami Durham tied his season-best effort in scoring in Big Ten play (Wisconsin) on Sunday. He had 17 points against Michigan and leads the team in assists with 64. Senior Devonte Green is averaging 10.6 ppg., and leads the team in 3FG% at 38.2%. He exploded against Iowa with 27 points and hit 7 of 11 3FG. Sophomore Rob Phinisee is shooting 38.0% from long range and is second on the team with 63 assists. Redshirt sophomore and Minnesota native Race Thompson played a career-high 25 minutes against Iowa and set career-bests for points (10) and steals (4). His father, Darrell, is the Gophers radio analyst in football and the program's all-time leading rusher. Junior Justin Smith is averaging 11.0 points and leads the Hoosiers with 26 steals.
