Rooks Wins Bout, Hoosiers Fall Against No. 5 Minnesota

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Cayden Rooks won his fourth Big Ten dual match of the season, but the Hoosiers came up short as they fell 38-9 against No. 5 Minnesota on Sunday at Wilkinson Hall.
Notes
• The Hoosiers drop to 1-8 on the season and 1-7 in the Big Ten. Minnesota improves to 9-5 overall and 4-2 in the Big Ten.
• Cayden Rooks picked up his 19th win of the season with a 5-3 decision in the second sudden victory period. Rooks got a takedown with 18 second left in the overtime period to secure the victory.
• Rooks won his fourth Big Ten dual match of the season.
• Liam Cronin did not wrestle as Minnesota did not weight in a wrestler at 125. Cronin has won his last four Big Ten matches.

"I told my guys, it was not the performance we wanted as a team. Minnesota came in ready to compete and they capitalized on a lot of bonus points. We have to do a better job. I told my coaching staff we need to figure out why we didn't have as much pop tonight. We are going to keep pushing forward and regroup for next week."
