Hoosiers Travel to Purdue for Big Ten Opener

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.– The Indiana men's tennis team will travel to Purdue to take on the Boilermakers on Saturday Feb. 22 at 12:00 p.m. at the Schwartz Tennis Center.

Last time out the Hoosiers picked up a 4-2 win over UCSB and a 4-0 win against Xavier on Monday Feb. 17.
Scouting the Opponent
Purdue comes into the match having won seven of their last eight matches. Most recently the Boilermakers beat Butler 4-1 and Marquette 4-3.
Looking at the Stats
Carson Haskins leads the Hoosiers with an 11-4 singles record, including 4-0 in dual matches. Bennett Crane has also reached double digit wins with 10. In doubles Haskins has teamed up with William Piekarsky to post an 9-3 mark.
Crane Takes Down Top-10 Opponent
In the match against UCSB, senior Bennett Crane won a three-set match against No. 8 ranked Joseph Guillin by a score of 2-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3 to help the Hoosiers win the overall match.
Hoosiers Earn Herbert Cup
The Indiana men's tennis team was honored at a men's basketball game recently for earning the Herbert Cup, which goes to the IU athletics team with the highest GPA each semester.
2018-19 Season in Review
The Hoosiers finished 14-12 overall and 6-5 in Big Ten matches. Senior Antonio Cembellin earned All-Big Ten First Team Honors.
Crane Finishes Runner-Up at ITA Regional Championships
Senior Bennett Crane defeated the No. 1 seed on his way to a runner-up finish at the ITA Regional Championships. With his finish at the regional tournament, Crane qualified for the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships.
