
Indiana Resumes Big Ten Play Tuesday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – After shutting out a pair of non-conference opponents last week, Indiana men's soccer (7-3-1, 2-2-0 B1G) restarts Big Ten Conference play Tuesday (Oct. 12) night when it hosts Ohio State (4-6-1, 0-3-0 B1G) at 7 p.m. ET on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
The match will be aired live on Big Ten Network with Dean Linke and Patrick Doody on the call. Live stats are available at IUHoosiers.com.
SETTING THE SCENE
• Indiana went 2-0 last week against non-conference opponents Omaha (1-0) and Trine (9-0) and recorded clean sheets against both teams.
• Junior forward Victor Bezerra has scored four goals over IU's last three matches, including a golden goal in Indiana's 1-0 win over Omaha last week. Three of those goals have given the Hoosiers a lead.
• IU is looking for its first conference win at home this season.
ABOUT THE BUCKEYES
• Ohio State is led by fourth-year head coach Brian Maisonneuve. He has compiled a record of 15-37-5 during his time with the Buckeyes.
• Before taking the helm at OSU, Maisonneuve called Indiana home both as a coach and as a student-athlete. As a player from 1991-94, Maisonneuve earned All-America honors and played beside current IU head coach Todd Yeagley. As an assistant coach at IU under Yeagley from 2010-2017, Maisonneuve helped guide the Hoosiers to the 2012 NCAA National Championship and coached nine All-Americans.
• The Buckeyes are searching for their first win in conference play, starting 0-3-0 in the Big Ten. OSU has dropped matches to Maryland, Northwestern and Wisconsin.
• Sophomore midfielder Laurence Wootton leads the Buckeyes in goal scoring, recording four goals this season. Senior midfielder Xavier Green is right behind him with three goals.
• Ohio State has turned to two different goalkeepers this season. Senior Keagan McLaughlin has seen the majority minutes in goal and leads the Buckeyes in minutes played (800:37), saves (29), goals allowed average (1.01), save percentage (.763) and shutouts (2).
