Donegan Finishes Tied for Sixth

MEDINAH, Ill. – The Indiana women's golf finished 15th overall at the Illini Women's Invitational at the Medinah Country Club after shooting an 890 (291-291-308; +26) over three rounds.
Freshman Áine Donegan continued her incredible freshman season and tied for sixth to pace the Hoosier attack. She played at or under par in six of 11 rounds this season.

CHIP-INS
• Donegan finished with her fourth-straight top-15 finish to open her collegiate career. She shot a Hoosier-low 211 (70-70-71; -5) after converting seven birdies during the final 36 holes of the competition.
• Donegan tied with Ashley Kozlowski (Purdue) and Patrice Mackova (Maryland) for the top spot among Big Ten golfers in the field. The trio all tied for sixth overall in the individual ranks.
• The tournament marked the first for Donegan in which she was under par in all three rounds. She is the first Hoosier to accomplish that feat over 54 holes since Priscilla Schmid at the Dick McGuire Invite on Sept. 9-10, 2019.
• Donegan was the top Hoosier finisher in all four fall tournaments this season.
• Freshman Beatriz Junqueira finished 70th overall after shooting a 225 (75-73-77; +9), while fifth-year senior Mary Parsons was one stroke behind at 226 (74-73-79; +10) to tie for 71st.
• Junior Hanna Tanaka placed 78th at 231 (74-75-82; +15) and junior Valerie Clancy settled for a t-79th finish at 234 (73-80-81; +18).
• Senior Maddie Dittoe also finished t-79th with a score of 234 (75-78-81; +18) after playing as an individual.

UP NEXT
The Hoosiers head into the offseason and will not compete as a team until the beginning of the 2022 spring schedule. IU will next compete in the Big Ten Match Play event held at the Island Course in Innisbrook, Fla., on Jan. 31.
