BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Volleyball (8-12, 2-6 Big Ten) makes it return to Wilkinson Hall on Wednesday, October 20 at 7 p.m. when they clash with (RV) Michigan. The match will stream live on B1G+.

The Opening Serve
• The Hoosiers were last in action on Sunday, October 17 at No. 12 Minnesota where they fell to the Gophers, 3-0 (15-25, 16-25, 21-25).
• In the match on Sunday against Minnesota, sophomore outside hitter Morgan Geddes tallied a career-high 10 kills. She also put up a solo block against the Gophers.
• Freshman setter Camryn Haworth ranks fifth in digs among Big Ten players with 27 which is also an Indiana-high.
• Junior defensive specialist Paula Cerame has been solid in digs all season and is currently sixth in the conference, tallying 316 so far in 2021.
• Junior middle blocker Kaley Rammelsberg leads the Hoosiers attack and sits at No. 10 in hitting percentage with .360. Rammelsberg has also recorded 136 kills.
• As a team the Hoosiers are recording 14.21 digs per set which ranks No. 8 in the conference. Indiana also is No. 9 in blocking, putting up 171 blocks and 2.34 per set.

• Michigan holds a slight lead over Indiana in the all-time series between the two programs, 42-43-1. The two teams met twice in the spring of 2021 where the Wolverines took both matches 3-2 (22-25, 22-25, 28-26, 25-21,11-15) then 3-1 (28-30, 25-20, 17-25, 19-25) the following day. The last time the Hoosiers won a match against Michigan was in 2018 where they saw a 3-1 (25-19, 25-19, 22-25, 25-17) victory at home.

• MICHIGAN: Mark Rosen is the head coach of the Wolverines and is in his 23rd season. Michigan continues to receive votes in the AVCA Coaches Poll and has a record of 11-6 overall, 4-4 record in the Big Ten. They have a marquee win over No. 8 Minnesota which they beat in Ann Arbor by a score of 3-2 (25-13, 13-25, 24-26, 25-14, 15-11). Sophomore outside hitter Jess Mruzik leads the Michigan attack with 218 kills and a hitting percentage of .225. Her 218 kills rank No. 9 in the conference. Sophomore Scottee Johnson does most of the setting, recording 588 assists and is No. 10 in the Big Ten so far this season. Junior middle blocker May Pertofsky leads the conference in aces with 35. Pertofsky has also slammed 154 kills. On the defensive side of the ball, freshman middle blocker Jacque Boney has thrown up a team-leading 71 blocks. The Wolverines are hitting .239 as a squad and are allowing their opponents to hit .186.

• The Hoosiers completed a four-game road swing with a trip to No. 12 Minnesota on Sunday, October 17. While Indiana gained momentum in each set the Gophers prevailed, 3-0 (15-25, 16-25, 21-25). Breana Edwards led the Hoosiers offense with 13 kills and a hitting percentage of .300. Morgan Geddes saw a career-high 10 kills while also recording a solo block. Kaley Rammelsberg tallied a team-high three blocks in which one was a solo block.

• Graduate student setter Brooke Westbeld returned to the starting lineup vs. Minnesota where she saw 32 assists and a block. Westbeld has a team-leading 408 assists.

• Freshman setter Camryn Haworth has seen an impressive first campaign with the Hoosiers and leads the team in aces with 27 so far this season.
• Freshman outside hitter Mady Saris is having a strong first season with the Hoosiers as she has secured 194 kills and 31 blocks.
