IUXC Continues Season With NCAA Great Lakes Regional

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Cross Country travels to Evansville, Ind. for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Friday, November 12. The women's 6k will kick off the meet at 12 p.m. ET followed by the men's 10k at 1 p.m. ET.

Meet Information
Four teams in the men's and women's field enter the regionals ranked. On the men's side, Notre Dame is the highest ranked at No.6 followed by Wisconsin at No. 9. Fellow Big Ten competitor Michigan is ranked No. 12 and Butler rounds it out at No. 28. In the women's field, Michigan is the highest ranked program at No. 12. Other Big Ten foes Wisconsin is tied for No. 13 while Michigan State sits at No. 16. The Notre Dame women are No. 25 to complete the field.
Three other programs are receiving votes on the women's side, The Hoosiers, Butler and Toledo.
The Hoosiers were last in action on the Hoosier Invitational. Keelan Grant and Jenna Barker won the men's and women's race, respectively.
Indiana got their first taste of the postseason at the Big Ten Championships on Friday, October 29 in University Park, Pa. Arjun Jha led the Hoosier men as he clocked a time of 25:03.7 to place sixth. Sarah Schmitt led the way in the women's race by placing 14th and captured a time of 21:07.8. Post meet, Jha was named to the All-Big Ten First Team while Schmitt landed on the All-Big Ten Second Team.
The Big Ten Conference announced their postseason awards this week and Indiana's Gabriel Sanchez was named the Big Ten Cross Country Freshman of the Year. Sanchez placed 45th at the conference championships which was the best of any freshman on the course.
