
Hoosiers Tumble at No. 25 Illinois

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Indiana Volleyball (9-18, 3-12 Big Ten) dropped its road match to No. 25 Illinois (17-9, 9-6 Big Ten) on Friday night by a score of 3-0 (11-25, 18-25, 17-25).
KEY MOMENTS
• The Hoosiers took a 2-0 lead from an Illinois error followed by a kill from Kaley Rammelsberg to open the first set.
• Letting Illinois take lead, Mady Saris pulled the Hoosiers back within two and were down 8-6. Breana Edwards and Rammelsberg went on to collect kills, but the Illini stayed hot as Indiana dropped the first set, 25-11.
• Morgan Geddes opened the second set of action with back-to-back kills before Edwards found the back corner and Brooke Westbeld served up an ace.
• Down by two, Geddes secured a pair of kills, but Illinois scored two points and the Hoosiers needed a timeout.
• The Illini used a 6-0 run to take a 20-12 lead late in the second frame. Indiana tried to mount a comeback with kills from Edwards, Savannah Kjolhede, Kari Zumach, and Rammelsberg but it fell short as they lost in the second set, 25-18.
