
IUVB Falls On The Road To Northwestern, 3-1

EVANSTON, Ill. – Indiana Volleyball (9-17, 3-11 Big Ten) closed out the weekend at Northwestern (11-14, 6-8 Big Ten) on Sunday afternoon. The Hoosiers were able to take a set but ultimately dropped the match, 3-1 (20-25, 25-21, 19-25, 22-25).
KEY MOMENTS
• Kaley Rammelsberg got the scoring going for the Hoosiers in opening set with a kill.
• Out of a timeout down 12-6, Breana Edwards found the floor to spark the Indiana offense. Rammelsberg recorded her second kill of the afternoon which was followed by a pair from Morgan Geddes to make it a three-point game.
• The Hoosiers were able to pull within one of Northwestern but came up short, 25-20 in set one.
• Letting Northwestern take an early 7-2 advantage, Savannah Kjolhede pulled up for a solo block and followed it up with a kill. Camryn Haworth then served up an ace that then led to kills from Grae Gosnell and Geddes.
• A service error tied the game at 20-20 and Haworth gave the Hoosiers their first lead. Edwards went on to tally three straight aces to give Indiana 25-21 set two win.
• The two teams exchanged points for the first part of the third set but Indiana needed a timeout after the Wildcats took a 12-8 lead. A kill from Kjolhede and an attack error by Northwestern put the Hoosiers within one as the score read 15-14.
• Indiana tried to mount the comeback but dropped the third set, 25-19.
• Mady Saris picked up the first two kills of the fourth set. The Hoosiers and Wildcats exchanged points until Northwestern pulled ahead, 15-13.
• Down 18-14 Kari Zumach tallied a kill to ignite life in the Indiana offense. They made it a one-point game which forced the Wildcats to take a timeout.
• Despite seeing kills from Edwards, Gosnell, and Rammelsberg, Indiana took a 25-22 fourth set loss.

• Senior outside hitter Breana Edwards tallied seven kills, three aces, and two solo blocks.

• Freshman setter Camryn Haworth put up 22 assists and two aces.
