IUFH Comes Up Short Against Iowa Despite Strong Defensive Play

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Indiana Field Hockey concluded their stint in Virginia Beach on Saturday afternoon with a game against Iowa. The Hoosiers saw strength in the defensive half, but the Hawkeyes would find the late goal and a 1-0 victory.
KEY MOMENTS
• Iowa got going early with the first shot of the contest coming in the opening minute, but a Hoosier defender was in front of it for the block.
• Freshman Shannon McNally saw her first save of the game in the second quarter of action.
• Freshman Emma Martin came up with a late defensive save in the third quarter to preserve an Iowa goal which kept the game scoreless through three.
• The Hawkeyes would find the back of the cage in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter to get the victory, 1-0.
