
IUFH Heads North To Play Michigan and Michigan State

Bloomington, Ind.— Indiana Field Hockey heads north for weekend two and will face Michigan and Michigan State. The Hoosiers will face the Wolverines, who are coming off a pause, on Friday Mar. 5 at 4 p.m. before traveling North in the mitten to play the Spartans on Sunday Mar. 7 at 2 p.m.

CORNER HITS
Last Time Out: Rutgers and Iowa
The Hoosiers opened up the 2020-21 campaign with a trip to Virginia Beach, Va. for its first two games of the season. Jemima Cookson, Meghan Dillon, Anna Gwiazdzinski, and Shannon McNally received their first career starts against Rutgerse. Indiana played Rutgers on Friday where McNally saw eight saves in the cage. Maddie Boehm came in clutch with a defensive save to save the Scarlet Knights from scoring in the third quarter. The Hoosiers got some clean looks, but nothing would come of it as Rutgers won the opening match, 3-0. On Saturday, McNally came up with another six saves against Iowa while Emma Martin had her first career defensive save. Martin also saw first career game action against the Scarlet Knights. No one would score until late in the fourth when the Hawkeyes would find the cage and take the contest, 1-0.
Preseason Honors Roll In
Prior to the season, the Big Ten announced their Field Hockey Preseason Watchlist. Jemima Cookson, Sydney Keld, and Mary Kate Kesler landed on the list for Indiana.
New Year, New Faces
The Hoosiers add nine newcomers to their roster for the 2020-21 season. Jemima Cookson, Meghan Dillon, Taylor Etling, Brinley Foster, Sophie Giltrap, Anna Gwiazdzinski, Emma Martin, and Shannon McNally join Indiana as freshman. Sydney Keld joined the team in January 2020 as a transfer from the University of Delaware.
Turning to the staff, Will Holt enters his first season as an assistant under Head Coach Kayla Bashore. Holt brings a wealth of experience to Bloomington as he is a member of the US Men's National Field Hockey Team. He also has coached and played for many organizations across Europe.
