Field Hockey Set For a Pair At Northwestern

Bloomington, Ind.— Indiana Field Hockey travels to Evanston, Ill. this weekend where they will play two games against Northwestern. Game one is slated for Friday, Mar. 12 at 4 p.m. ET while the second contest against the Wildcats is scheduled for Sunday, Mar. 14 at 1 p.m. ET.

CORNER HITS
Last Time Out: Mich. & Mich. State
The Hoosiers traveled North this past weekend to play Michigan and Michigan State. On Friday against the Wolverines, Emma Martin scored her first career goal. Martin was able to find the cage after a deflected shot by Sydney Keld of a penalty corner. Despite the offensive coming to life, Indiana would fall to Michigan, 2-1.
Wrapping up the weekend slate, the Hoosiers squared off against Michigan State on Sunday. Against the Spartans, Shannon McNally had three saves while Mary Kate Kesler took the lone Indiana shot. The Hoosiers would go down 2-0 to close out the weekend.
Preseason Honors Roll In
Prior to the season, the Big Ten announced their Field Hockey Preseason Watchlist. Jemima Cookson, Sydney Keld, and Mary Kate Kesler landed on the list for Indiana.
New Year, New Faces
The Hoosiers add nine newcomers to their roster for the 2020-21 season. Jemima Cookson, Meghan Dillon, Taylor Etling, Brinley Foster, Sophie Giltrap, Anna Gwiazdzinski, Emma Martin, and Shannon McNally join Indiana as freshman. Sydney Keld joined the team in January 2020 as a transfer from the University of Delaware.
Turning to the staff, Will Holt enters his first season as an assistant under Head Coach Kayla Bashore. Holt brings a wealth of experience to Bloomington as he is a member of the US Men's National Field Hockey Team. He also has coached and played for many organizations across Europe.
