With Northwestern being up 1-0 in the top of the seventh, the Hoosiers tried to rally when Annika Baez singled to the shortstop to get on base. Aaliyah Andrews entered to pinch run in which she stole second to get in scoring position with two outs. Andrews was left stranded after a quick out and Indiana dropped the finale to the Wildcats, 1-0.
The weekend turned around for the Hoosiers in a three-game series with Rutgers as Indiana was able to pick up the sweep against the Scarlet Knights. Game one saw the Hoosiers score 11 runs including a grand slam from Brittany Ford. Gabbi Jenkins had a program best six stolen bases and Indiana went on to win the contest 11-3. the Hoosiers continued to make contact with the ball lead by Taylor Lambert who had a homerun and brought in three RBI. Katie Lacefield also dinged a home run to propel Indiana to a 8-1 victory. Emily Goodin led in the circle with six innings pitched and seven strikeouts. The weekend finale was a finish for the ages by going all the way to the 11th inning. Down 5-4 in the 10th, Jenkins made a gutsy play by stealing home to tie the game at 5-5.
