
Hoosiers Tee Off in the Clemson Invitational

SUNSET, S.C. – Indiana Women's Golf began play in the Clemson Invitational on Friday at the Reserve at Lake Keowee, as the field played 27 holes due to impending weather. Senior Mary Parsons led the way for IU on the first day as she is currently tied for 33rd place.

• The Hoosiers all started play on hole No. 5 in a shotgun start. After finishing the first round, the field went directly in to the next nine holes. The decision to alter the schedule due to inclement weather came Thursday night.
• Parsons shot a 3-over 75 in the opening round, punctuated by a birdie on the final hole. Halfway through the second round, she is shooting 1-over with a birdie.
• Sophomore Valerie Clancy carded a 78 in the first round and is 3-over in the middle of the second round, tied for 69th place.
• Senior Angela Aung and sophomore Hanna Tanaka are both tied for 83rd after shooting a 77 in the first round and a 42 through the first nine holes of the second round. In the first round, both were the strongest on the back nine as they carded a 37 with a birdie.
• Junior Maddie Dittoe shot an 84 in the opening round and has a 42 at the halfway point of the second round.
• The field includes 11 teams ranked in the top-50 by Golfstat, including four in the top-25. The Big Ten is well represented this weekend with seven from the conference competing.
UP NEXT
The field returns to the course tomorrow at 9 a.m. and will look to get the remaining 27 holes in due to impending weather on Sunday.
