ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Indiana men's golf travels to Georgia this week for the Spartan Collegiate at Sea Island. Competition begins Monday with two rounds and will conclude Tuesday morning.

Tournament Notes
The Big Ten is well represented in the tournament with seven teams from the conference in the field with Michigan State serving as the host. The teams will compete on the Plantation Course, which plays host to the first and second rounds of the PGA Tour's RSM Classic.
The first round will tee off at 8 a.m. in a shotgun start with continuous play into the second round. The third and final round will also be a shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
Indiana in the Rankings
The Hoosiers made their season debut in the rankings last week when they came in No. 26 by Golfstat. This week, IU is ranked No. 34 in Golfstat and No. 27 in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. Three Hoosiers are in the Golfstat individual rankings in Merchent (No. 42), Salyers (No. 98) and Davis (No. 101.
Tournament No. 1 Recap – Big Ten Match Play Championship
The Hoosiers rallied to defeat Iowa, 3-2, in the Big Ten Match Play finals to earn their first title in the event since 2009. IU defeated Wisconsin in the semifinals, 3.5-1.5, and earned 4.5-0.5 victories against both Ohio State and Minnesota on the way to the championship. The event saw the Indiana debuts of freshmen Drew Salyers and Clay Merchent. Junior Harry Reynolds earned Big Ten Men's Golfer of the Week for his 4-0 performance while the team was named Golfweek's Men's Team of the Week.
Tournament No. 2 Recap – Mobile Bay Intercollegiate
In the first stroke play event of the season, Indiana came in second at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate. It marked the best team finish for Indiana in a stroke play event since the Fuzzy Zoeller Invitational in Sept. 2018. The Hoosiers were led by Merchent, who finished tied for third. All six Hoosiers competing, including Brock Ochsenreiter who played as an individual, finished in the top 31.
