
IUFH Heads To Michigan For Final Regular Season Matchups

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.— Indiana Field Hockey (0-12, 0-12 Big Ten) concludes its regular season with a journey up north this weekend playing games against Michigan State (1-11, 1-11 Big Ten) and No. 3 Michigan (9-2, 9-2 Big Ten). The Hoosiers will face off against Spartans on Thursday, Apr. 15 at 3 p.m. and will air live on the Big Ten Network. Indiana plays its final game of the regular season against the Wolverines on Saturday, Apr. 17 at 11 a.m. ET.
Week 7:

Last Time Out: Ohio State
The Hoosiers squared off against Penn State for two games this past weekend. Sachi Ananias put the helmet back on and guarded the cage for this first time this season. She let up one goal and had eight saves. Mary Kate Kesler led the way with two shots while Peyton Becker, Maddie Boehm, Meghan Dillon, Madi Guyer, and Anna Gwiazdzinski had one shot each. The Hoosiers would fall in game one by a score of 1-0. In Sunday's game. Kelser and Gwiazdzinski saw shots while Jes McGivern and Kennedy Reardon saw their first shots of the weekend. Ananias had six saves and Emma Martin had a defensive save in the 3-0 loss to the Nittany Lions.
Career Firsts
Emma Martin scored her first career goal against Michigan on Mar. 5. She also appeared in her first game and got her first career start during opening weekend. Martin also has three defensive saves on the season.
Freshmen Meghan Dillon, Sophie Giltrap, and Anna Gwiazdzinski have taken their first shots of their Indiana careers. Giltrap leads the pack with three shots. Freshman goalkeeper Shannon McNally got her first career start against Rutgers week one.
New Year, New Faces
The Hoosiers add nine newcomers to their roster for the 2020-21 season. Jemima Cookson, Meghan Dillon, Taylor Etling, Brinley Foster, Sophie Giltrap, Anna Gwiazdzinski, Emma Martin, and Shannon McNally join Indiana as freshman. Sydney Keld joined the team in January 2020 as a transfer from the University of Delaware.
Turning to the staff, Will Holt enters his first season as an assistant under Head Coach Kayla Bashore. Holt brings a wealth of experience to Bloomington as he is a member of the US Men's National Field Hockey Team. He also has coached and played for many organizations across Europe.
