
Six Personal Records Drop On Day One Of B1G North Florida Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Six Hoosiers set personal bests on Friday afternoon as Indiana Track & Field competed on day one of the B1G North Florida Invitational.
Leah Moran continued her dominance in the long jump by collecting another personal best and gold medal in the invitational of the event. The senior soared a distance of 6.39m (20' 11.75") and her mark currently ranks No. 5 in the NCAA East.
Mahogany Jenkins picked up the personal record in the high jump after clearing a height of 1.69m (5' 6.5"). The freshman tied for sixth overall.
On the oval, Alyssa Robinson clocked the third best time of 100m prelims to advance to Saturday's final, clocking a personal best time of 11.56.
Kelsey Harris returned to the track for the first time in over year on Friday night. In the invitational 1500m, Harris clocked a personal record of 4:16.42.
Shaton Vaughn saw a personal record in the 400m hurdles for the second weekend in a row. Vaughn nabbed a time of 53.07 in the invitational race.
Rounding out the personal bests, Bailey Hertenstein shaved three second off her 800m time to placed second. Hertenstein raced to a time of 2:09.90. Also racing, Mallory Mulzer came in fifth with a time of 2:11.24. Maria Anderson picked up a time of 2:11.8 and finished in seventh.
Natalie Price secured the bronze medal in the invitational 400m with a time of 56.07.
Teddy Browning ended the day for the Hoosiers on the track in the invitational 1500m. Browning crossed fourth in a time of 3:46.40.
On the men's side of the invitational long jump, Treyton Harris took home bronze and leaped a mark of 7.60m (24' 11.25").
In the open long jump, Paola Fernandez-Sola saw her best finish this season and placed second with a mark of 6.13m (20' 1.5"). Hope Purcell came in sixth and saw a mark of 5.80m (19' .5"). Kynton Grays and Dom Day competed in the men's side and finished in fifth and sixth, respectively. Grays nabbed a distance of 7.09m (23' 3.25"), slightly edging out Day who saw a mark of 7.08m (23' 2.75").
In the throws, Khayla Dawson and Maddy Pollard returned to competing together in the Indiana uniform in the shot put. Dawson locked down silver with a heave of 17.74m (58' 2.5") while Pollard received a mark of 16.76m (55' 0") to garner sixth.
Nick Lane kicked off the outdoor campaign in the hammer throw with a seventh place finish and a mark of 57.87m (189' 10").
Jyles Etienne placed sixth in the men's high jump competition with a clearance of 2.01m (6' 7").
The Hoosiers will conclude the first of two Big Ten neutral site meets on Saturday, Apr. 3. Action is slated to begin at 9 a.m. with the men's shot put on the campus of North Florida.
