Hoosiers Set for Big Ten Championship

MAINEVILLE, Ohio – Indiana Women's Golf travels to TPC River's Bend this weekend for the 2021 Big Ten Championship. The tournament will feature one round each day and tee off on Friday morning.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
• The format for the tournament is six-count-four with the four best scores counting for the team.
 
• The field will begin off of split tees on Friday, with Indiana's lineup going off of No. 10 beginning at 8:57 a.m. The Hoosiers will be paired with Rutgers on the first day, who they were also paired with in last week's Indiana Invitational.
 
• All Big Ten schools also participated in the Indiana Invitational, with Maryland pacing the Big Ten pack with a second-place finish. Ohio State will not be competing in the Big Ten Championship.
 
• Included in the field are six teams ranked in Golfstat's Top-50 and two in the Top-25.
 
• This marks the fourth straight season the event will be played in Maineville, not counting last season's canceled tournament. The Hoosiers finished tied for second place in the 2019 Big Ten Championship with Erin Harper placing third.
 
Tournament No. 1 Recap – Palmetto Intercollegiate
Indiana opened the season at the Palmetto Intercollegiate Feb. 21-22. Senior Mary Parsons led the way for Indiana as she finished 24th. It marked her 15th career top-25 finish. It marked the first time junior Maddie Dittoe has played in a team event.
 
Tournament No. 2 Recap – Briar's Creek Invitational
The Hoosiers visited the Golf Club at Briar's Creek March 15-16. Sophomore Valerie Clancy finished tied for 57th. Senior Angela Aung's second round score of 72 was the best for a Hoosier in the event.
 
Tournament No. 3 Recap – Clemson Invitational
Indiana wrapped up its string of three-straight tournaments in South Carolina at last week's Clemson Invitational. Mary Parsons led the way as she finished tied for 14th, marking her first top-15 finish in a three-round event since the 2019 Briar's Creek Invitational.
 
Tournament No. 4 Recap – Indiana Spring Challenge
IU came back to the Hoosier State for the Indiana Spring Challenge April 4-5 at Covered Bridge Golf Club in Sellersburg, Ind. Senior Angela Aung led the way for Indiana as she tied for ninth place. Sophomore Hanna Tanaka also finished in the top-15 as she tied for 15th place.
 
Tournament No. 5 Recap – Indiana Invitational
The Hoosiers made their competitive debut at The Pfau Course last weekend. IU put together its best round on the final day, improving by nine strokes. Parsons carded a 1-under 71 in the last round, moving up 18 spots to finish tied for 42nd. Clancy earned the best finish for Indiana as she tied for 38th.
