Indiana Travels North for Match with No. 15 MSU

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women's soccer team (2-5-6, 0-5-1) will travel to East Lansing on Oct. 13 for a match against No. 15 Michigan State (10-1-3, 5-0-1) under the lights at DeMartin Stadium at 7:00 p.m. ET.
The match will be broadcasted on BTN+ with Veronica Bolanos (PxP) and Miriam Bingham (Analyst) on the call with Marin Klein reporting from the sideline.
ABOUT THE SPARTANS
• Michigan State is coming off a 2-0 win over Michigan on Sunday, Oct. 9. Sophomore forward Jordyn Wickes scored the game-winner in the 40th minute while senior forward Lauren DeBeau netted another one in the 65th minute to secure the win.
• After the win over the Wolverines, the Spartans received their first national ranking since 2009 and secured their fifth consecutive conference win.
• MSU is led by head coach Jeff Hosler who is in his second season at the helm. In 2021, Hosler led the program to a 10-4-3 record, making the Big Ten Tournament for the first time since 2011.
• Lauren DeBeau leads the team's offense with eight goals, two assists and 18 points featuring three game-winning goals.
• Goalkeeper Lauren Kozal has totaled 39 saves (.867 save percentage) and faced six goals (.46 goals against average). She is 10-1-3 on the season and has totaled seven shutouts.

• Michigan State leads the series 19-8-2.
• In the last matchup, the Hoosiers fell 1-0 against the Spartans at home on Sept. 19, 2021. Indiana could not clear the ball before MSU's Camryn Evans found the back of the net in the 16th minute.
LAST TIME OUT
• After a scoreless first half and pressure from the Indiana defense, both teams were eager to take the lead.
• Indiana saw their first real dangerous opportunity after junior forward Anna Bennett sent a cross to an open area in the box, but it was hovered on by the goalkeeper before Jen Blitchok could make the contact.
• Rutgers jumped ahead in the 61st minute on a penalty kick that was awarded after Indiana committed a foul in the box.

• The Hoosiers have shutout eight consecutive opponents, extending their scoreless streak to a total of 720 minutes this season, tying the program record for longest consecutive scoreless streak that was set in the 1993 inaugural season.
