
Hertenstein And Veatch Set Program Record To Pace IUTF At Windy City Invite

CHICAGO, Ill. – Indiana Track and Field's distance squad wrapped it time at the Windy City Invite hosted by Wisconsin on Saturday.
KEY MOMENTS
• Bailey Hertenstein toed the line with the best in the Gold Coast Mile where she took second overall with a time of 4:35.22. Her time was a program record and personal best.
• Ben Veatch followed suit and set a new program record but in the 3000m. Veatch secured a time of 7:45.89 which was also a personal record as he finished as the top collegiate in the field.
• Sarah Schmitt took second in the 3000m invite after clocking a time of 9:17.82. The time was a personal best for Schmitt.
NOTABLES
• Bailey Hertenstein's time of 4:35.22 currently sits at No. 2 in the Big Ten and No. 11 in the NCAA so far this season.
• Ben Veatch now has the second fastest time in the Big Ten in the 3000m and No. 6 in the NCAA so far this season.
• Jake Gebhardt's time of 8:01.62 in the 3000m was under the facility record which was set at 8:09.90. Gebhardt finished in sixth overall in the unseeded 3000m on Saturday afternoon.
