IRVINE, Calif. – Despite a competitive, back-and-forth battle, Indiana Women's Water Polo fell just short, to No. 6 Michigan, 8-6 in their opening game of the Kalbus Invite.

KEY MOMENTS

After trailing early in the first period, senior Izzy Mandema evened the game at 1-1 with her goal at the 0:42 mark in the first period.
With just a second left in the first half, freshman Sophie Sollie found the back of the net to make it a 3-3 game and give the Hoosiers momentum entering the third quarter.
Indiana faced a 7-4 deficit through much of the fourth quarter, but there was no backing down. Goals from junior Lanna Debow and sophomore Kallie White made it a 7-6 game with 3:26 left in the contest.
