Indiana to Face Purdue in Semifinal Round
HAMMOCK BEACH, Fla. – The Indiana men's golf toppled the Penn State Nittany Lions by a score of 3.5-1.5-1 in the second round of the Big Ten Match Play Championships on Friday afternoon at the Ocean Golf Course.
The victory advanced the Hoosiers to the semifinal round against the top-seeded Purdue Boilermakers, who defeated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights by a count of 4-1. Indiana, the reigning Big Ten Match Play champions, will tee off at 8 a.m. ET on Saturday morning against Purdue.

"This was a tough match," head coach Mike Mayer said. "We were able to get off to a fast start but Penn State really came back and battled us. Fortunately, we outplayed then down the stretch to get the win.
"We will have to be ready to face an outstanding Purdue team in the semifinals tomorrow morning."
UP NEXT
The Hoosiers and Boilers will open action in the first of two semifinal matchups at 8 a.m. ET on Saturday morning. The winner of the match with face off with the winner of the Iowa-Michigan State matchup in the title match later on Saturday afternoon.
Following the conclusion of the event, the Hoosiers will head to the Bahamas for the Albany Collegiate Invitational hosted by Auburn. The three-day event will begin on Feb. 14 from the Albany Championship Golf Course.
