Rowing Wraps Up Weekend at Oak Ridge Invite

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. – Indiana rowing concluded its season-opening regatta with a third and final session Sunday (March 20) morning at the Oak Ridge Invitational.
"In general, I was happy with the way the whole team performed this weekend," IU rowing head coach Steve Peterson said. "We are at the end of our spring break training, so I know our athletes trained hard all week. We always know going into the races the athletes will be a little more fatigued than we might normally want. These were also the first races of the spring for us after only being in the water for about 10 days, so we are still working on lineups and race plans.
"So, while we know we still need to get faster, the results this weekend also showed a lot of promise. It is always important to remember that the season is a process. In each race we are trying to learn and get faster with the goal of going as fast as we can in May. This was just the first step in that process, and I think it was a very good first step for this team."
