Blaskovic, Diving Duo Make Thursday Finals

ATLANTA – Three Indiana athletes advanced to individual finals on day two of the 2022 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday (March 24) inside McAuley Aquatic Center.
IU is the only program with two divers qualified for the 1-meter championship final as senior Andrew Capobianco and freshman Quinn Henninger earned spots during the preliminary session. Capobianco earned 405.30 points in the prelim to place as the top qualifier, while Henninger scored 381.15 to take fourth place.
In the lap pool, senior Bruno Blaskovic was one of nine athletes in the 50-Yard Freestyle field to swim sub-19.00, touching the wall in 18.98. Blaskovic beat his seed by 17 spots to capture the top placement in the consolation final. Blaskovic was just two hundredths of a second short of his career-best 18.96 but will get a second crack at it during the evening session.
Indiana will enter Thursday night's 200 Freestyle Relay as the No. 8 seed with a time of 1:15.81 that earned the Hoosiers a runner-up finish at the Big Ten Championships. IU's program record time sits at 1:15.41.
